In order to start your driving lessons, you will first need to obtain an instructional driving permit from the Secretary of State's Driver's License Facility. The Driver's License Facility will also require several additional forms of identification, and a written test must be taken in order to receive the permit. If you already have your instructional driving permit, or driver's license, then you may begin to schedule your driving lessons at your convenience.


Necessary information required to receive an instructional permit at the Driver's License Facility (If you do not have a permit):

• Original copy of their Birth Certificate or Passport
• Social Security card
• A $20.00 check, cash or money order
• Application form
• Something with their address on it
• Something with their Signature on it
