NWSDS Informer Volume 3, Dec 2001
Going forward, I am going to make a great effort to keep you up to date on certain issues occurring within our organization. Please feel free to give me any input that you would like presented to the other employees as well.
Happy Holidays
As another year comes to a close, we would like to thank each and every employee for all of the hard work they put into the company this year. A strong employee base has made for the companys continued success. We hope that you all have a wonderful and peaceful holiday season.
No Show Forms
It is very important that all BTW instructors turn in "no show forms" for all driving lessons that students do not show for. These forms are found in the BTW binder that Ed passed out to all instructors. The forms need to be either dropped off at the Crystal Lake office or faxed to the office within 24 hours of the missed lesson. This enables our records to be as up to date as possible and avoids any errors in our records.
Winter Weather
As winter weather approaches, it is important to exercise more cautious driving techniques. We should teach our students to use larger gaps, start stopping sooner and be more alert to the condition of the roads. Also, our instructors should be more selective when choosing roads and routes to take. Try to avoid travelling in areas that may not be plowed well especially at night.
Last year Ed put an emergency kit in the trunk of each instructors car, however if there is anything else you feel you would like to have for your kit please let him know.
BTW instructors should exercise their own judgment to cancel driving lessons when the weather is extremely and unusually cold or when the roads are hazardous due to ice and snow. Please contact the office if you are canceling driving lessons due to poor weather conditions.
Our classroom classes are also cancelled due to extremely poor weather conditions. We usually close our classroom sessions when other school closings occur. The office notifies the students when classes are cancelled.
If you have any questions regarding the cancellation of a drive and/or class please contact the office.
