• Tell the students to Take their time !

Remember you are in charge of the vehicle at all times, not the student.

• Watch out for objects, obstacles and potential accident situations ahead of time !
• Keep Good Gaps at all times !
• Do not use the rocking horse ride approach…

ex. Gas, Brake, Gas, Brake, Gas, Brake…

• Do not ride the brake, or use it for long periods of time
• Do not apply or use the parking brake, unless for emergency purposes
• Do not let the students drive in other gears, besides Overdrive ( or Drive )

Be gentile on the front right tire and the front right side of the car

Practice in neighborhoods with small, soft curbs !

Do not let students hit the curb !

Large amounts of money, time, maintenance, labor, car parts & tires have been spent because students have been hitting curbs, potholes & objects on the front passenger side of the vehicles. Be careful when up-hill and down hill parking.

Take it easy and have the students take it easy too !

• Power Steering Pumps Can Burn Out Easily:  Do not let the students over-crank the steering wheels,

Lots of wear and tear on the power steering system.

• Do not hit snow banks or snow covered curbs
• Watch out for cars, shopping carts, pedestrians, poles, objects, curbs and potholes in parking lots. Look all around the vehicle numerous amounts of times for any objects or obstacles. Most small dents and dings will occur in the parking lots.
• Report all dent, dings and mysterious marks on the vehicles.
